What is the Fresno-Madera K-16 Collaborative?
On May 26. 2022, the California State University Fresno Foundation on behalf of the partnership was awarded $18.13 million by the California Regional K-16 Education Collaborative Grants Program (K-16 Program). The K-16 Program, which is housed within the California Department of General Service (DGS) Office of Public-School Construction (OPSC), is made possible by a $250 million appropriation to DGC in the Budget Act of 2021.
With diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility at its core, the Fresno-Madera K-16 Collaborative (FMK16C) intentionally links education and workforce to provide every student access to career pathways. It is the region's commitment to strenghten our community by providing pathways to college and careers for all. Initially a signature of the Governor's Council on Post-Secondary Education and the Fresno DRIVE designed to systemically and sustainably close race equity gaps for the region's racially and socioeconomically diverse student population, it is now also the programmatic and fiscal lead for the Central San Joaquin Valley K-16 Partnership (Partnership) which is a collaboration of the FMK16C and the Tulare-Kings College + Career Collaborative. You can find more information on their website regarding their vision and mission, additional pathways, and the Partnership here.
