Host a school-wide or district-level event where local healthcare professionals, colleges, and organizations showcase careers in medicine, nursing, medical technology, and public health. Students can interact with professionals, ask questions, and gather resources about different career paths. In addition to offering technical support for these kind of events, the UCSF Fresno Office of Health Career Pathways is also available to do presentations or tabling events.
Our office hosts two pre-health related conferences each year: the Reaching Out to Aspiring Doctors (held in March) and the Health Education and Leadership (held in September) conferences. Pre-health educators and pre-health students from our partnering sites are able to participate and learn at these events.
1. The San Joaquin Valley Reaching Out to Aspiring Doctors, or ROAD, Conference is held at UCSF Fresno in March of every year. It is dedicated to equipping aspiring doctors, physicians, and pre-health educators with vital information crucial for achieving their or their students' educational goals. Our mission is to inspire participants to return to the Valley, armed with the knowledge and skills needed to provide culturally responsive care. A sample agenda is shown.

2. The Health Education and Leadership, or HEaL, Conference is held at our partnering high school in September of every year. It is a dynamic event designed to empower students and families in the Junior Doctors Academy, Doctors Academy, and partnering pathways. Attendees explore a resource fair featuring health and community organizations, engage in workshops on health, wellness, college preparation, financial aid, and budgeting, and enjoy food and refreshments. The event provides invaluable tools and insights to support academic, personal, and professional success in healthcare and beyond.
